Welcome to the Salvador Dali Gallery
The name Salvador Dali conjures a variety of images and thoughts including the words, shocking and eccentric. Dali was an exceptional Spanish painter, sculptor, designer, writer and graphic artist. In 1929, he became a member of the Surrealist movement and quickly made a name for himself as one of the most famous members of the Surrealists.
Dali was an abstract artist who was influenced by Sigmund Freud’s ideas about dream interpretations and the subconscious. He rejected the rational and mechanical world and instead sought after a fantastic dream world. He felt that our world was too mechanical and that we all need more fantasy. He said, “We can make the fantastic real, and then it is more real that that which actually exists.”
